Question

I'm looking to buy three watch winders to use with the following watches:
• Rolex Datejust
• Cartier Roadster XL Chrono (W62019X6)
• Cartier Santos 100 XL Chrono (W20090X8)
I'd like to have the option of battery or ac adaptor power and I will need something compact so I can store the watches in their winders in my safe. I was looking at the Orbita Bellino. Would this be a good winder for these watches? The Rolex is about 10 years old, but its a standard datejust. I wasn't able to determine the movement type for the Cartier watches, which are both chonographs. I'm not sure if that is a factor or not? Any help before I can place me order would be appreciated.

Answer

The Orbita BellinoItem# OR-BELLINO/W1is a wonderful winder choice that will meet all of your prized automatic watches needs. Because you want these luxurious watches to fit into a safe you need a compact winder and the Bellino is just that. Your Cartier Roadster and your Rolex Datejust seem to have the same winding requirements. I'm not sure of the specific requirements for the Cartier Santos but that should not be a problem at all. The Orbita Bellino is programmable both directionally and TPD (turns per day) It has 4 programmable settings of 500, 650, 800 and 950 TPD and direction settings: Counterclockwise or Clockwise and Auto-Reversible, for Bi-directional Watches like Rolex.

The Orbita Bellino is a Dual Powered Unit: Operates with adapter (included) or batteries (4 “C-cells” not incl.) Batteries will last up to 1 year and the signal light will indicate low power long before performance is affected.

Another less expensive and reliable option is either the "The Cubic" Watch Winder by Eilux
or the New 2008 Eilux 1 Cylinder Watch Winder . Like the Bellino, these winders are also directionally programmable, CW, CCW, and Bi. The TPD is set to 900 per day. This preset TPD is not a problem because most automatic watches have an internal mechanism that protects the watch from over winding.

A nice feature of The "The Cubic" Watch Winder by Eilux, is that it can lie flat in your safe and still wind your Rolex or Cartiers. You need to be careful not to rest "The Cubic" Watch Winder by Eilux completely upright on its battery compartment. The winder will not wind your watch if it is standing straight up and down.

Both of these winders are perfect for safe storage or travel. They are both super quiet and these winders are either battery or AC adapter operated.

Question:

Hi. 3 questions.
I have 3 automatic watches and I've been wearing them on a
rotating basis to keep them all running. One of them is an Oris
William F1 Team Chronograph, which is the heaviest of the 3.
A) Can the Orbita Sparta winder handle it because I am sure that its as
heavy as a Panerai?
B) Partly relating to the above question. Which would you recommend,
the Orbita Sparta 2 watch winder or the Eilux triple watch winder
(the one that is discontinued)?
C) Lastly, is the Sparta also AC powered, or just battery powered?

Thanks

Answer:

Thank your for your inquiry about our watch winders! Here are our
recommendations based on the information that you provided.

The best we can determine is that the watch is an Oris F1 Team PVD
Chronograph which needs to be wound Clock wise (CW) for around
800 Turns Per Day (TPD).

A) Can the Orbita Sparta handle a Oris William F1 Team
Chronograph because I am sure that its as heavy as a Panerai?

As for weight and size, the Sparta may have trouble with this watch.
Therefore your best option for winding all 3 watches would be to get
the Sparta Double Mahogany for the other two watches.

Why? No fiddling with winding settings just pop on and off as needed.

B) Which would you recommend, the Orbita Sparta 2 watch winder
or the Eilux triple watch winder (the one that is discontinued)?

The other option is to get the Eilux triple. You will have to play with
the winder settings, but once you figure them out for each watch just
put the watch back in the same place each time!

C) Is the Sparta also AC powered, or just battery powered?

The Sparta is only battery operated, but because of the patented
design the battery is guaranteed to last for 2 years! So battery
replacement is not the issue it is with other winders. If you choose
to get the Sparta 2 Deluxe winder, you can then get a Eilux Cubic
Winder with the adapter for the heavier watch

or to get the Boxed Eilux Winder.
