An ORBITA watchwinder is the perfect accessory for any fine automatic, self-winding watch.

All ORBITA watchwinders (except the 16, 28 and 40 models) can be battery powered to provide for portability, allowing their use anywhere.

Most models may also be powered with a supplied AC/DC adapter which allows wall plug convenience.

All ORBITA winders are programmable for limiting turns per day (TPD) in order to avoid watch over winding.

Many can also be programmed for watch winding direction, either clockwise or counter-clockwise, or automatic reversing when desired.

OK Guys,

I know usually I just talk to the ladies, but today it is just you and I.
Here at watchcases.com our customers want great deals on even better merchandise.

We only do business that way because we want only the best for you.

Me, I have very expensive taste. I don't eat cheap food, I don't wear anything fake, and I refuse to look tacky. Even my accessories need to be in grade A quality condition. This is just who I am. I love Jimmy Choo shoes because they are gorgeous and they look fabu on me the price matters not to me. Why you ask?

If you, like me, want only the best and never will buy a fake ... So why would you place a $65,000.00 watch in your drawer?

Why would you keep your Rolex in your night stand? And what I really don't get is why in the world would you spend $150,000.00 on a watch that you
cannot mistreated and then by a watch winder and/or watch case that is cheap and poorly made.

Listen up fellas to a tip from a Beautiful woman (me) LOL. Scared money don't make no money. Spend money on a watch winder and or watch case with a warranty. Why ? Because our watch is like our baby - we want it well kept. We only want you to have the best.

Why? I do not stand behind bland ho hum anything.

For instance The JE-12. This watch case is just for your Large expensive watches not very expensive. Top grain black leather with neat white stitching and grey faux suede interior. This is not a case for the ladies - sorry babies.

Are you a Jay-Z or Russell Simmons do you have a large Panerai
or Rolex diving watch or even the highly coveted Vacheron series? Does your assistant always forget to pack your power watch?

Well not any more with the The JE-12. This watch case is hot hot hot, with two-tier pillows you can place a regular size watch as well.

Ladies this is a large case your watches will swim on the second pillow but don't worry I have something special for you.

So Guys, are you understanding me? Now don't be angry with me for calling out 'You penny pinchers'. It's OK to always look for a bargain and a cheap buy.

But is your watch cheap?
No.

As always keep looking good and feeling even better,
XOXO

Question:
I've narrowed my watch winder search to the Orbita Sparta Winder
and the Eilux Winder. One major concern that I have in a watchwinder
is that I don't want it to stretch-out the band on my Rolex Submariners.
That being said, would you recommend one over the other?
If so, which one?
Thanks.
Andy

Answer:

Andy,

You have a great watch and it is wise that you take care of it!
Your research lead you to the right place and the correct winders.
Either watch winder should work for you, but if you are truly worried
about the bands not being stretched, I think there is one choice.

I am not sure what you mean exactly by stretch out the bands.
Do you have small wrists?
This is a common issue. Many Watch Winder companies do not design
their product well and ignore the pillow holding the watch band.
A big mistake, but consumers usually find out too late. You are
wise to think ahead....

Orbita uses pillows to hold the watch.

Eilux winders use a plastic spring loaded device which expands
and holds the watch. The pressure on the Eilux holder is not
great and should not present a problem, but based on your stated
concern I would recommend you stick with Orbita.

I would think the Orbita might work better for you if you are
worried about stretching. And if you do have smaller wrists
they even make smaller pillows. We can get them special ordered
for you at no additional charge!

I think you also asked in a previous email about who we were
authorized to sell for. Basically if it is on our site we are
authorized dealers, we have requests from other watch winder
companies
all the time to add their lines, but we do not add
lines of watch winders very often.

Hope this helps. If the standard pillow seems to tight to you
just contact us and we can get you a smaller one or we can order
it now. Have a great day and thanks for shopping at watchcases.com
and please tell your friends about us!

Sincerely,
Donald

Subject: RE: Panerai Luminor: Viaweb Form Submission
User_Name: Tark

Question:

Thx Don...I was on vacation...meant to say that I was NOT going to look at another winder website...wanted to depend on your expertise...am willing to pay for that!

Just to make sure I understand....on your website you mention that the Orbita Sparta Open Winder could be challenged by some of the bigger, heavier watches like Panerai. So if I go with the Orbita Sparta Deluxe Winders instead, you do not believe this is an issue?

The watch is a 44mm and is heaveee.

Thanks..I'll make the purchase based upon your reply...the real issue is whether or not the Eilux Winder is better suited for the heavier watch.

thx!!!

Tark

Answer:

Orbita makes many models of winders.
The Sparta Line is one model with its own unique movement and there are 2 configurations of the winder boxed and unboxed. Plus they also make it with different power configurations. Battery or AC adapter.

The two choices of boxed Sparta winders are 1. Sparta Deluxe boxed winder, this is a large wood box and plenty roomy, the other is a leather compact box and is not good for larger watches. Tight fit.

The
Open Winder

and
Compact Winder

http://www.watchcases.com/rolexwinder.html
has a bit of a "design flaw"...they can not wind realy heavy watches.(Or as you say "heaveee!")

Why the "design flaw"?

Well they (Orbita) were asked to make a low profile compact watch winder for safes and dresser drawers, taller winders do not fit inside small spaces as easy and hence the compact design. The shortness of the winder forces a steeper angle and this affects the winder efficiency.

I will have to re-read my notes, I hope I did not say that about the Sparta in general and only said it about the Compact model and Open Model...The Deluxe Models of Sparta Winders can wind any watch. (At least so far!)

The Orbita Sparta Deluxe Winder in the Mahogany
http://www.watchcases.com/orsp1decama.html
is a good pick, in fact it has wound an Ernest Benz 47 mm watch with ease! One thing you should do is place the watch on the pillow off center and a little low on the pillow to create more momentum when it swings around. Not absolutely critical, but it gives the best result.

Orbita also make other winders with more robust movements and programmable features for heavier watches. They cost more however and I think the Sparta is a great choice.

Question
But what if I have more than one pocket watch to store?

Answer
If you have more than one family heirloom pocket watch, a display box that
gently holds four pocket watches at once is a good alternative to storing them in a place where they are liable to be jarred to the floor or subjected to varying degrees of temperature.

Are you a collector? Do not be shy, both store them and show them off in distinctive pocket watch case that holds twenty (20) together in one place!

I hope this answers your questions. Always check for web sites that speak directly and accurately to the care of your pocket watches and shop with
us to store them!

Question
Where should I store my pocket watch?

Answer
When you are not carrying your pocket watch in your vest pocket (with the crystal toward your body), keep your pocket watch somewhere where it will be free from dust and lint. No sock or underwear drawers please! By doing so you eliminate the possibility of dust and lint working their way through the watch case into the movement.

First look at an arched pocket watch stand that will be displayed in a climate controlled home and where the pocket watch will not be near open windows or hot radiators.

Showing off your pocket watch? Do not be tempted to open the back of a pocket watch case. If it must be done, it should be done by a professional for its periodic maintenance.

We have the best selection of pocket watch stands for our customers.

Question: 8/2007.

1.) I wanted to ask if the Orbita Monaco 6 watch winders box is the best winder for my husband's luxury watches.

2.) What is the best case to store his expensive sunglasses and prescription glasses?

Answer:

1.) Your husband's watches have timeless style and impeccable quality and the Monaco 6 Watch Winder by Orbita is the only watch winder and case that will do the job!

2.) His fashionable eyeglasses should rest in a leather case that is simple, yet stylish, and will hold his most valuable sun glasses.

This storage box from watchcases.com with its black leather exterior is spacious inside due to its generously designed interior that stores six (6) pair of eye glasses. The interior is lined with a cloth creme material and is equipped with a glass window which allows you to display his valuables for him to find with ease each day.

This is a great and simply classic gift.

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for your inquiry.
And thank you for the compliment as well.

Now for your Breitling Chronograph and your
Rolex Submariner Stainless Steel Date.
(Great watches might I add.)

Your Rolex requires 650 TPD (Turns Per Day) and your Breitling
requires 800 TPD. So you need a winder that can meet both watch
TPD requirements.

I suggest a double winder for you Andrew.
Siena 2 Winder
http://www.watchcases.com/si2blla.html

Why you ask?

I know for fact you will be pleased with and this is why.

This Siena 2 Watch Winder is fully programmable, winds 1 or 2 watches.
Suede lined area in front for holding strap watches & jewelry.
As beautiful as it is functional.

The "perfect" programmable watch winder. Quality American made watchwinder. Available in Teakwood, Maple Burl, Black Leather and
Black Lacquer finishes (Call ... this is made as a special order for us.)

Each motor is independent: 2 Winder allows for winding 2 watches of totally differing requirements. Operates on batteries (not included) with an LED light to show low voltage or use included AC Adapter. 6.8 x 13.2 x 10.2. Two-year warranty. By Orbita Winders.

Thank you again Andrew
Give me a call if you need further assistance.

Question:
I see the Eilux two watch winder on sales for $395...will this work with a Panerai Luminor 44mm? This appears to be a very good deal...maybe a better winder than the Orbita Sparta?

Answer:

Tim,

Panerai makes a number of models which could fit your description.
(So why don't you donate it to me and I can learn about it? ;-)
Just playing...At the bottom is a partial list of Panerai Luminor models.
Please see if you can find your particular model listed, and also answer my other questions. I will need to do a little bit of research. But in general you are looking at 2 good winder choices.

Panerai historically are difficult to wind.
Does this watch have any type of protective devices covering the winding stems etc.? Panerai makes more mechanically wound watches than automatics but if your is automatic this might not be an issue.

Is this watch super heavy?
Is it extra large with protruding stems?
Or is it truly only 44mm from edge to edge at its broadest points?

You ask if the Eilux 2 winder is better than the Sparta?
I would not say better, it might end up being a better choice for you, but it is hard to compare the watch winders so simply, Apples and Oranges issues, if you will.... however before I make any recommendation I will need to do a little bit of research. Both Watch Winders should work fine for this watch. Again, let me get back to you.
If you can not identify the winding needs for your watch, the Sparta Deluxe Watch Winder would be the easiest choice.

Why?

Well, the Panerai people like to make a mix of watches, most winding like a Rolex Bi-directionally and requiring at least 650 TPD, however about 40% or more of the Panerai Luminor series winds clock wise at 800 TPD, so the Orbita Sparta with its unique patented winding system allows you to insert the watch into the winder and not fret about figuring out the winding setting since the Sparta takes care of that for you.

Ladies,
Just a couple of Shades with the names that sing to me come spring.

Gucci.
Giorgio Armani.
Christian Dior.
Especially "Christian Dior Black Tie 52 Aviator Sunglasses".

These shades ladies are not the ones we hang through out the house.
But the ones we wear to look fabu. Fabu (Gorgeous).

Do you have a shade collection? If so then, I have a stunning shades
case!
Do you?

Well if not this is the cases for you.
6 Pair Eye Glasses Black Leather Display Case
http://www.watchcases.com/eye-glasses-case.html
(This case is designed to hold eye wear, eye glasses and sunglasses combined or alone!)

Now that we have this, why do we also need an eyeglasses case?
It fits all the large shades as well as the smaller designs and eyeglasses equally well.

NO scratches, no broken frames, you will always have your eye accessories at hand.
And if you are like me ladies you have three to four pair by the
same designer in different styles.

So you can have your Chloe' case, your Gucci case, your Fendi Case,
your Calvin Klein Case, and last but not least your Dolce case, ready
to go and in perfect condition for travel needs, but your eye glasses or sunglasses
in one easy to see and use 6 sunglasses case!

So pay tribute to the warm weather and the beautiful "spring you"
and make way for the "hot sizzling summer you".

Girls lets get it together. I have started on my wardrobe already and
I am eyeing a pair of Christian Dior and I only have room for two more
pair of shades.

My daughter says by the time I give her my shades "they will be
considered vintage". I got my sunglasses case two years ago and all
my shades still look brand new (and they better stay that way Tasha).

Did I tell you we can special make some of our products? Give me a
call and lets toss around some ideas. Lets see what we can come up
with to make us more FABULOUS than we already are.
If that is possible.

Question:
Hi-I am looking for a single watch winder for an IWC (which according
to the orbita site likes 800 TPD and bidirectional winding). Will
the eilux cylinder winder be able to wind this watch? My concern is that the watch may be too heavy. It is an IWC Portugese and all the
weight is in the face of the watch (the strap is alligator).
Thank you for your advice. Your website has been very helpful!

It sounds like you are wearing a beautiful watch so here are my sugesstions for your

USER_NAME: Richard Message: Question on SPARTA 1 Watch Winder: Item # OR/W05103/W1: 1. What kind of batteries does it use and how many? 2. Does it have an AC adapter? ----------------------------------------------------------------- Answer: The answer is yes and no. Why is that? Orbita now offers two (2) styles of the Sparta Open Watch Winder. One style has battery power, one style uses an AC adapter. The Sparta WatchWinder to date (02/22/2008) does not come in a dual powered watch rotator option. It is an either batteries or an AC adapter option, not both in the same open winder. The SPARTA 1 model 5103 watchwinder you asked about is powered by two (2) D size batteries. (Just standard a "flashlight battery".) This sparta open winder comes in two color/styles. The Silver Sparta winder model 5100 does not come with an electric adapter. However, the black leatherette Sparta open 5103 watch winder that you asked about comes in a separate Sparta Winder model 5200 that has an electric adapter and it only works with a 24 Volt AC adapter no battery option. Two separate models - one works on batteries only and the other works on AC only. The battery life on fresh batteries used on the batteries only models can last easily up to 2 years, which is far more than any winder on the market, most winder batteries last 3-6 months... The Black Leatherette covering is the same great winder in a more attractive package! Orbita's revolutionary design mimics the human wrist better than any other winder on the market. Most watch winders rotate a watch in a circular motion .
Orbita’s Sparta Automatic Watch Winder operates on a totally different
principle. The Sparta Winder swings the watch; pendulum like. The standard
program activates the internal microprocessor every 10 minutes.

The 15 minute program (extended program) - available on the battery
operated winders - allows many watches that wind in both directions
to remain fully wound while on the winder, providing increased
battery life by as much as 50%.

Once the swinging motion begins, gravity does the rest. The heart
of the winder; the patented ROTORWIND™ system
enables
the heavy mass of the Sparta rotor to produce a gentle and quiet
"back and forth" motion. Providing an excellent winding result
and saving battery power too! Orbita's manufacturer's warranty
is 2 years.

Since this Sparta Rotor Wind Winding motion is inconsistent and
moves in all directions, fast and then slow just like the human
wrist it is able to wind every watch. Now if you have a larger
heavier watch, you have to buy it in the boxed version and not
the open model winder
since the open winder can not wind a too
heavy watch.

Let's talk about colors people, yes colors. Watch Band colors....

Alligator or leather, snake skin and metal colors, rose gold, silver, gold, platinum.
Which do we choose?
What's hot?
What's not?

Why you ask?

Well I say colors my friend the brighter the better.
Why stick to the norm your watch is worth the extra pop I say.
Lets be clear now, I don't mean go out and get orange and neon green.

No, instead I would point you to deep sensual colors, colors that make you want to taste them.

So now that you are going that extra mile take a step back and make
your time peice a statement of who you are. Yes we know you have money But do you have flavor? Do not be afraid to go a bit different from the crowd!

And if you don't we can get you some. So let your watch band make a statement,
talk in colors.

Don't just wear your watch band, wear it well!

Whats wrong with Fake Leather? Everything!!!

Hey everyone time to share.
I grew up in New York city Brooklyn to be exact. When I was about 7 Micheal Jackson was the hit maker and everything was about Micheal. Michael this, Michael Jackson that, all good...from his glitter glove to his socks. Remember the song "Thriller"? Remember his dancing and the video? Back then he was a hero.

Well there was a leather jacket and pants with
the zippers and all (remember the one from "Thriller")..... I wanted it so bad, but we could not afford it.

One day after school my mom surprised me with a Michael Jackson leather jacket and pants suit! I was the happiest kid in Brooklyn. That is until I went to school the next day!

Everyone else had either a jacket or the pants or both. But they new something I did not know, they new mine were fake. I soon found out. They teased me endlessly...

I cried all day until to my relief the school day ended, and I was free to run home...but after school some
of the kids got together and actually beat me up. (Hey it was New York!) My pants were ripped and my jacket zipper broke.

My mom did not believe me that the kids beat me up. She punished me for not taking care of the outfit and forced me to wear it regularly and I was ridiculed by the kids every day....This went on for about a month.

So...I HATE FAKE LEATHER! I swore to God (after I asked him to punish my mom for buying that outfit), that I would one day own real leather.

Now I am a mother of two and my kids have only real leather.
It is just simply better. Nothing feels like good soft leather and the smell tells you the quality. Real leather does not burn people.
Would you eat a plastic porter house steak?
Or a plastic shrimp cocktail?
No?

So why on earth would you purchase pleather ( plastic leather).
Please don't say it was cheap. The problem with cheap items is they don't last.
If you are going to spend money, your hard earned money that you may not get back
and a store credit is not what you want. Get the real thing spoil yourself. You only get one life to live, live it looking good and trust me you will love it. Less just causes a mess down the road.

Life is to short to be cheap and you can not take the money with you when your gone.

But you can look fabu while you are here splurge people don't be scared today go out and buy that leather bag or wallet or belt or watch box.
Get that leather book-bag and those leather Gucci jeans. Get that apple green alligator watch band for your Rolex.

And while you are shopping check out our fine Leather watch winders, watch cases, and leather purses.
Don't worry girls I am coming up with a line of bags for watchcases.com. Exotic leathers such as alligator, snake, ostrich and many more
all other purse you will see on watchcases.com are original designs and ideas but if you want a bag made especially for you send e-mail
with what you want and I will make it for you. One of a kind means you and only you will have a version of that bag get ready ladies.

As always stay gorgeous and in style and stay real! Stay in real leather!

Question:

Why are some watch cases so expensive and some so cheap?

Answer:

This is an excellent question and deserves an answer. First of all, some customers assume it is because the retailer is being greedy. This is not the case. Retailers are in an extremely competitive business. Margins are usually as small as possible.
Unless you can get a monopoly position, and even then in the long run it makes no sense to over charge for too long, high profits invite in competitors which destroys profits in long run.

Apple i-phones are an example of how the market works, you have development costs, when things first come out they are twice as expensive, then after thousands of units are sold the price of manufacturing plummets.

Economies of scale kick in, and as you saw with the phenomenal success of the i-phone the price can be cut in half! Ironically Apple got punished for lowering their price, all the angry early adapters who paid for the right to own the item first got mad when the next generation was cheaper. Apple did a good thing and the right thing for the consumer, but got blasted because the item was a hit. People felt Apple unfairly took too much money at first, when in reality, they probably made less selling the overpriced units than the cheaper units. Again, this is the issue of development costs. Things are cheap to make in quantity, but setup costs and minimum quantity requirements push the costs through the roof. Most products are not runaway hits, and so the time line for lower prices is usually much delayed....anyway.

Watch Cases are not like i-phones. Our total yearly sales does not even come close to the i-phones daily sales. We never achieve economies of scale in manufacturing products and so our products are more expensive to make in general.

Now specifically why is one case cheap and another expensive?
Well with purses and other mass market products, Brand Names affect price. (This is a minimal effect in the Watch Cases market.) However quality ingredients affects price more than anything. Real leather versus fake leather. The cheap knock of fake leather
knock off Gucci purse is an example of such cost of materials price difference.

We sell a leather watch case called:
Royal 12 Luxury Leather Watch Case with Glass Top. Pictured here.

Some things to point out.
1. Real Glass- not plastic lid.
2. Latch- many cases do not latch.
3. Key and Lock- many cases with a latch do not lock.
4. Real Leather - many cases sold as leather are not, they are made from good fake leather. But the customer buying a $50 for case thinking it is leather is not an educated consumer and never knows the difference. Ignorance might truly be bliss.
5. Quality Leather- the grade of leather used can double the price. Cheap leather can sometimes cost less than a quality fake leather, but good leather, the kind you you can see, smell and feel. Well this is what we used and it is expensive!
6. Quality Leather is expensive because it is hard to work with and takes craftsmanship to put together. Cheap leather or fake leather takes a guy and a glue gun!
7. Stitched leather versus glued. Stitching is extremely expensive.
8. Fit and Finish. This is a real cost impact.
9. Pillows- a correctly sized pillow is expensive to make. Many cases sold are a good 15% smaller than these pillows, which are sized for the average man sized Rolex watch, but also sized to fit most ladies watches. Exact measurements are expensive.
10. Loss Leaders- Some large retailers sell non-specialized items as loss leaders, just to get you on their mailing lists. They know they can sell other things to you later.
11. Products that do not work are often dumped onto the market. Customers buy these cheap dumped items only to find out they do not work. But usually it is too late, the cost of return shipping exceeds the cost of the item so they make due.
12. Pictures might be worth a thousand words but a cheap watch case picture online can look almost like a high quality luxury watch case but do not be fooled by a low price! Touching leather must be worth a million words. Order one of these cases and touch and smell and you can tell!

Question:
Can I just place my automatic watch on my watch winder or do I need to wind it first?

Answer:
Excellent question. Yes you are correct you need to wind the watch before placing the watch on your watch winder.

How to wind?

Simply pull the stem. Wind the watch 40 times. (That is 40 half turns of the stem.)
Place the watch on the watch winder and you will never have an issue with the watch winder failing to keep the watch wound. A watch must be at least 80% wound for any winder to keep it wound.

(Read your watches directions and follow their recommendations if they say anything different, watches vary but 99% of watches this rule will work for!)

A Chronograph is basically a special type of watch with additional complications which allow you to time more things than the standard 24 hour day. A mechanical watch with three separate hands, the hour, minute and second hand. Chronographs allow for the control of each of these hands. For example you can start and stop the second hand to time something if you need to and it will have no effect on the watches ability to keep standard time....

Hey every one today I am going to give you my watchwinder choice of the week.

Why is this you say? Well every week or so I tinker with a selected watchwinder.
I get my automatic watches and sit down and wind down if you will…

I test my choice for 3 things silence, storage, and correct turns per day (TPD)

Different sized watches male and female are placed on the winder and watched by me for at least two days.

1. I place my winder in a closet on a shelf.

2. I move it to the dresser.

This weeks winner!

Orbita Siena 1 Watch Winder

http://www.watchcases.com/orbita-watch-winder-siena-1.html

Not only is it durable it looks great(for me looks do matter) and runs quiet!
All automatic watches need one of these at some point a marriage of technology and class.

Message:
Do I need to wind my mechanical watch every day?

Answer:
Yes, we think it is a good idea. If done daily it becomes a habit and will be easy to maintain. More importantly we have found the watch tends to give better time keeping if the wearer consistently winds the watch, not only at the same time each day, but the same number of turns each day.

Basically wind it one wind less each day until you notice your watch not keeping accurate time, then move up a winding turn or two. Read the owners manual of course and follow their specific directions over our "rule of thumb" advice however!

Question:
I'm looking for a 2 Watch Case suitable for traveling for my Omega Speedmaster Professional watch with SS bracelet and my JLC Reverso Duo watch?
Is there anything you can recommend? Thank you.
G Williams, New York.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry and after researching both of your watches
I can honestly suggest for you the Venlo Biella 2 watchcase in the Italian Leather Grande.

(Be careful though, watches smaller than 55mm swim in the grande case.
We recommend the standard case 99% of the time, it is really large.
The standard case fits most watches.)

So a standard case would be good as well.
Your watches deserve to be kept in luxury especially your
JLC Reverso Duo. You have great taste in watches, may I add.
If you need a winder for your exquisite watches, may I also suggest
a Wolf Designs Winder?. Not only will you always be on time,
you will be in tune. This watch winder is a show piece of style

Do you need to wind a mechanical watch every day?

Yes, your watch will run better if you do. Just like a car should not be left sitting a watch should not be left sitting for extended periods of time.

"You always get better performance from a watch when it's fully wound than when it's wound down," says Daniel Fenwick, technical manager at Swatch Group (formerly SMH) Customer Service in Lancaster, Pa. "It's best to wind it even if you don't intend to wear it. That will prevent the movement's lubricants from congealing. This doesn't, of course, apply to an automatic, or self-winding watch. This type of watch should be [hand] wound initially to get it started. If the wearer is reasonably active and wears the watch for 12 to 15 hours a day, it will remain fully wound" Fenwick says.www.EuropaStar.com .

Why all the fuss you ask?
Well if you are anything like me you just take it off and throw it some where it's a watch right?
No!

It is actually a delicate piece of machinery that keeps us up to date. So lets keep it running properly and keep it beautiful if you can not wind your watches daily then buy a winder and let us keep your time for you!

Why do teens prefer a phone to a watch? Trendy watches to most teens are boring--
gaudy pieces of jewelry that went out when they got their extra large cell phone.

What if we take a note from movies such as Mission Impossible and transfer the
phone to the watch? You can use blue tooth in a smart watch and still be in the
fashion loop.

Every year a new cell phone comes out smaller and more complicated than the
last one. If it is more complicated, the more they feel the need for it I think.
Anyway teens are about what is right now not what may be coming.

Teenagers find reading a standard watch dial complicated, so they turn to the
cell phone which shows the time digitally. Even the average Joe on the street
can not tell time anymore, so the digital clock is less money and or less hassle.

Will they invent a cell watch? A non large communication device that
you can wear on your wrist and still tell time. Maybe, but they will have a hard time making a digital watch with mechanical movements. So give a nice watch to a teen or twenty something, teach him (or her) the value of a classic watch on the wrist.

In business a watch makes a statement no other accessory can make!

Question:

I can't get my winder to keep my watches
wound. What should I do and can I return it?
I have a Rolex Daytona, IWC and an AP [Audemars Piguet].

Answer:

Jason,

Thank you for the call, as per our conversation, I believe you had your
winder on the wrong setting for your watches: Watch Winders are pretty simple.
If they are on the right setting they will wind your watch, it is as simple as
gravity. (Rather quality watch winders are simple put it on set it and forget it, but cheap fake watch winders often times do not work to wind watches since they the manufacturers do not understand angles of rotation and inertia and other important issues about making a watch winder... Many winders are made by Jewelry Box manufacturers in China, but a watch winder is more than just a jewelry box it is a
precision piece of machinery.)

The Rolex Daytona requires Clockwise CW winding at 800 TPD at least and
the IWC and AP requires the same, or at least the majority of movements
from those companies are either bidirectional or clockwise wound.

(All bets are off if you own a reproduction aka fake, since the movement
would be unknowable, but trial and error should get the watches on the
correct setting. It is simple physics if on the right setting the winder will wind it.)

Since you tried Bidirectional the obvious choice is try CW and then CCW,
but since the winder is moving the watches, it is not the winder that is at fault.
Have your watches had the periodic maintenance as suggested by the
manufacturer?

I am confident that changing the directional setting will solve your problem.

Hey every one today I am going to give you my choice of the week.

Siena Watch Winder by Orbita. 1 Watch Winder.
http://www.watchcases.com/orbita-watch-winder-siena-1.html

Not only is the Siena Watch Winder durable it looks great!
Yes and looks really do matter.
All watches need one of these winders at some point. The Siena Winder is a marriage of technology, class, and craftmenship. You can depend on the Orbita Siena 1 Winder to keep you wound and on time.

Ladies, Valentines day is a round the corner what else can you give a man who has everything?

A custom made Watch winder and case would go nicely with a $65,000.00 watch. (OK it also goes great with a $3,000 watch!)

Call me at Watchcases.com for more insight.

Question:
I like the Eilux 3453 single watch winder in Cherry Wood. I have the Breitling Hercules. will this watch winder work for me or would you recommend some other brand or watch winder?

Answer:

Hey John,

First of all let me start by saying great watch!
As a lady ooh la la.

Yes the Eilux 3453 single winder is a great choice it will meet the (tpd) requirements
for your watch. And is an attractive piece.

The Breitling Hercules Requires at least 650 (tpd) in both directions.

So the answer to your question is the Orbita Brand would be my first choice.

Orbita SIENA 1 Winder

This winder accommodates the size of your watch and is gorgeous, quiet and simple to operate.

My second choice would be the

Orbita Sparta Single Winder

Why because of all the Sparta winders this one just stands out to me.
Weekly I test a winder and this one never gives me problems and it is
a great buy as a gift if you are just starting your watch collection.

Last but not least if you just need a winder for one watch and only one and
you will travel a lot and don't really care to much about the look of your winder I suggest the

CubicLux" Leather Winder

It is simple straight to the point wind your watch and keep it wound.

John I hope this has helped you and that gorgeous watch of yours!

Question:

Hello - I'm interested in this product and any other
case for small wrists, this one
seems to be best suited for me with the pillow design.

This may sound like a crazy question, but how strong
is the magnetic closure? I'll be storing mechanical
watches in this case, and have a magnet in such close
proximity isn't the best if the magnet is strong.

Answer:

You are right the JE12 is an excellent choice for someone with very small wrists like yours. The unique pillow in a pillow design allows for large wrists and small wrists to use the same pillow. The smaller wristed person simply can toss the larger
outer pillow part. Also it works great for Large Wrists and of course was designed for large faced watches.

Your question about the magnet is actually an excellent question. It is true that magnets can have a negative effect on mechanical watches. However this magnet is a very weak magnet. I tested it with another magnet placed on the inside of the case directly behind the magnet. The case itself prevents the magnetic field from traveling through to the interior, so a watch placed on the pillow would be 100% safe! The JE12 Watch Case is as safe as any other watchcase. Great question, thanks!

Now that brings up another point about Magnetism!

Magnetic fields are a big deal with watch winders and automatic watches. Many cheap winders do not adequately protect the electrical field generated by the winder motor and could cause damage to an automatic watch. Quality winders like Buben and Zorweg, Wolf Designs Winders, Eilux Watch Winders and of course Orbita Watch Winders shield the motors. Orbita goes a step further and uses an iron free inner core to further cut down on the magnetic field generated by the electric motor. Cheaper winders do not mention this deficit in their design. You really do get what you pay for with a watch winder. Pay for a watch winder that works and does not damage anything.

Sincerely,

Question:

I need a double watch winder for my Patek, Rolex, and or Vacheron Constantin watches.
I figure I will wear one and wind 2. What would you recommend?

--------------------------------------------------------
The customer in the email reply below ended up buying
and keeping a siena 3 winder.

Answer:

Dear Mr. Crisses:

I enjoyed talking with your earlier today. Thank you
for your inquiry about the best double winder for your
luxury watches. Notably your Patek, Rolex, or Vacheron Constantin watches.

Let me say first off, if you can afford a triple winder, that is what you should do. The boss always recommends buying a winder head for every watch and not to mix and match, but you asked about a double winder, so here goes!

Even though I do not have the specific model number
and movement for your watches (this should be in
your watch manual, or on the back of the watch case),
we recommend Orbita's Siena 2 as the best winder for your heavier watches' needs:
http://www.watchcases.com/si2blla.html

As we discussed, with it's programmable features, it
keeps most watches wound and can be upgraded later
to a three watch winder. Practical and fashionable too.

The next best winders for your watches are Orbita's
Sparta Double Deluxe winders which have a closed case*.
http://www.watchcases.com/spartaorbita.html

*Orbita does not recommend their open winders (open winders
are without a case or box lid, just open to the air) for any
of the Rolex multi-function diver's, or any heavier, watches.

Once you have read the detailed information and checked
the beautiful case's exterior measurements at the bottom
of each page, you can decide if one winder will work better
in your particular safe.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate
to contact me in Customer Service Monday through Friday
between 10 and 4 Eastern time. We look forward to
receiving your telephone order or hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Joyce

OK, Ladies... Lets get educated on watch winder lingo.

*T.P.D - Turns per day (meaning how many turns per day)
Your watch winder can be programed for the correct amount
of turns your Rolex needs during down time. Most ladies watches need
between 500 to 650 T.P.D.

B.D. - bi-directional (meaning clockwise and counter clockwise)
another programmable option your winder should have.

Now check out your watches and tell us what your needs are.
Did I mention we are the best watch winder store on the net?

Why?

We use our products and stand behind them.
So we are not just guessing when we speak to our customers
we are giving them the hard truth.
Plus my boss is a perfectionist only quality can leave his warehouse.

So until next time ladies Just don't watch your watch wear it.
Have a great day!

Question:

Hello - I'm interested in this product and any other
case for watches sized to a 6.75" wrist, but this one
seems to be best suited for me with the pillow design.

Any other cases you could recommend? I have a Venlo
case for a few of my watches on straps, but I really
need something that can hold watches with bracelets
sized for a 6.75" wrist. Many thanks.

As a follow-up question, does the Venlo Capri storage box have pillows that will accommodate watches that have been sized to smaller wrists?

Many thanks.

Julian

Answer:

The circumference of the Venlo pillows is 7" with a certain amount of flex.
However, there are so many variations and combinations of watch bands,
buckles, and watch faces, we cannot say with absolute certainly how
watches will fit in a particular case. Only putting the actual watch on the
pillow will do that for sure. We understand your concern.

Question:
Can this item (The Wolf Designs 8 WatchWinder) stand on the short end instead of on the long side without affecting the functionality?

Thanks,
Mitchell Freedland Design
Mitchell Freedland Design

Answer:

No, this watchwinder is designed to wind in the upright position shown. Very few watchwinders are flexible enough to be turned on their side and still wind the watch properly.

Time is precious... When we look through history everything was really about time.
How long did it take you to get to this website? Time that you can not get back, not a second of it. It is gone, gone for good.

So what is the big thing about a watch winder?
To me it is simple, a watch winder saves you time and
time is money and if I lose money I get very angry.
I must be on time or early. Today time is even more valuable than time was just a few years ago. Everything today is about speed.

No one is waiting any more we are not comfortable with the "my watch stopped"
spare me the excuses thank you........

Get there on time. Get in on time and understand the importance of time. Stop wasting time searching online for the cheapest watch winder, just get a good one and stop fretting, let us save your time.

Fortune 500 companies hire consultants to access their use of time and resources (people), but really it all comes down to using time wisely!
Meetings, proposals, million dollar deals are all made daily and on time.
Why?

Time is money people and time waits for no man or woman or stylish teen.

Watch Winders are becoming the new "now necessity" for the busy executive.
Lets not waste time.
Let's make money people. Now think about all your automatic watches, are they slow or fast or stopped?
If any of them have stopped what have you missed out on while you waste time resetting the thing?

How much money could you have made if you were on time?

Think about it. TIME IS MONEY...Let us save your time!

Question:

Is this watch winder capable of winding a Breitling (Hercules)?
The watch is 44.8mm in diameter.
Would you recommend this winder over an Orbita Sparta ?
Would you recommend any other winders for the a Breitling ?

Thanks

John N., CPA
Answer:

The diameter is not an issue, as long as the weight of the watch is under 0.55 pounds, the Eilux Watch Winder will do fine.

Regards
Tim
