Thanks for all the information. Rapport did write they would send a part, but I'm not sure it was the actual motor. They said to test it with batteries and if it didn't work, then they'd send a part. Of course, it doesn't work with batteries either as I'm sure it is a bad motor.
I am going to your website to buy the Orbita Travel Winder. Perhaps I made a mistake paying so much for such an expensive Rapport winder case when it is the motor which does the work. By the way, I don't even remember where I purchased the Rapport winder.

Answer:Glad to hear you got in touch with them Steve. The telephone number we had said
"no longer in operation". Well, you are not alone in the "purchase for looks" department Rapport sells a great looking product...
We hear this story a lot. I sincerely do hope you get the thing working. This is exactly the response we used to get, never oh lets fix it, always something for the customer to do or test or the like, granted sometimes testing is needed, but your note was thorough enough to know you were not a "frantic, oh gee whoops, it is not plugged in sort of guy!" ha ha...
I prefer the Orbita and Eilux solutions of an American based distributor with repair capabilities but winders made with motors that are over engineered and therefore rarely fail really makes them stand out in the value department.
I wish we could get the Rapport Winder Boxes made with the Orbita Winder Motors, but alas....we can not. We therefore stick with offering dependability over looks and price!
