User: Ernie W.Question: Hello,
I am in the market for a watch winder. In the “educational” section of your Web site, you talked about the fact that a poorly designed watch winder can actually damaged a watch and that spinning a watch is not the same as winding a watch.
You mentioned that your do not carry
“Steinhausen and ERS" watch winders. It is because you deemed them to be inferior products or because you are not a distributor of their products.
Sincerely,
Ernie
Answer:Ernie,
We carry winders with a proven record of high quality performance.
We continuously get questions about the 2 winder brands you mentioned from customers needing repair work. We do not carry these products, I doubt we ever will. We therefore have written that we do not carry these products.
The key to a quality winder is the mechanism on the inside, not the exterior. We only hear from customers who have purchased other brands which have failed. People with products that work hardly ever contact us.
We carry (and therefore are distributors of)the following brands:
Buben and Zorweg
EiluxOrbita
Wolf Designs
We have evaluated many winders and chosen not to offer some winders because of the pricing structure or poor quality. High End winders sell slowly and therefore we do not carry some excellent though expensive winders, Bergeon, Scatola Del Tempo and Underwood are high end winders we do not carry. There are numerous other low end products that tend to be unreliable with poor customer service and repair and if we do not carry them we of course are not distributors of their products.
We attempt to answer frequently asked questions on our website to save on answering telephone calls and emails about such issues.
Sincerely,
Joyce
