TAG HEUER--- TAG Heuer innovates with top designer Ken Okuyama at Geneva Motor show
Geneva 78th International Motor show opened its doors yesterday to the international media to unveil Japanese top designer Ken Kiyoyuki Okuyama first GT road cars creations under his own name, and to be built by his newly created company Ken Okuyama Cars in association with Modi Corporation.
In this endeavour Ken Okuyama partnered with TAG Heuer to integrate in his revolutionary KO 7 Spider aluminium dashboard 2 TAG Heuer Grand Carrera 17 RS mechanical chronographs perfectly mirroring Okuyama avant-garde engineering,
design and technological values and philosophy.
This is the first time in contemporary GT cars that luxury Swiss mechanical timepieces are integrated in a car dashboard to meet the time and timekeeping requirements of such high performance cars. Indeed other watch Brands present in cars nowadays all use automotive quartz technologies limiting their contribution to the car clock dial design and branding only.
The other car dashboards instruments and panels such as the tachymeter and the rpm counters have also been largely inspired by the
TAG Heuer Grand Carrera design and include "côte de Genève" engine blocks as well as disks, like on the Grand Carrera Chronograph dial. http://www.tagheuer.com/the-news/events/index.lbl?uh=BDF20F3F-1FCA-4B0E-9A59-C2AD820D2A9F
So does this mean a small car on your wrist?
All I know is it is just so pretty!
