Hi, I need one watch winder for my son's Rolex GMT. I also need one for my two ladies Rolexes. I also have Seikos. Do I need separate watch winders for them? One is an automatic and the other is a kinetic automatic.

The best winders emit a quiet hum. Orbita and Eilux make the quietest running models. Everwell/Eilux are the absolute quietest winders with Orbita Winders a close second place.

Really I would refer to both brands as "whisper quiet. The sound level of the Orbita Monaco's sound is barely appreciable compared to the Eilux you currently own.

I asked this same question several months ago, and was told that they used to charge for the adapter, when in fact the power adapter was included several months ago as well. Dear Michael:

When our Webmaster updates the Buben winder information, we will notify you via email. We are a small company and it is on his list of weekly updates to make.

Our supplier did verify that whether the adapter was included has changed back and forth a couple of times, and at the moment the adapter is included. The truth is the manufacturer's website was the one that was not up to date. They changed their price structure and decided to not include the adapters instead of raising the price. The change in the currency values was largely the reason. They actually began shipping the product without adapters to the supplier. This has been a logistic nightmare for us. We agree, the adapter should be included.

The time for leather watch bands is back baby.
We have rose golded and platinummed ourselves to death!

Gold is still nice but to much is gaudy come on it's not 1985 people tone it down.
Steel and titanium are still the norm but it's back to basic black that is were it is at. Whether it be grade A rubber, lizard, or even ostrich get it in midnight black.

My band of choice is alligator it's stylish yet it does not take away from the bezel and come on the bezel is what you really show off isn't it? Although black is timeless flawless and if cared for will stand the test of time.
Think classic, think interchangeable....
just like "Reebok" goes with everything casual, black goes with anything formal, anything you can wear your watch to: a wedding, a bat mitzvah, a baptismal,
a tennis match, football game, soccer, oh yeah, and work!

Wow! Excellent thinking and interesting question. This one I do not know the answer to. In theory, your should be able to, but the circuit boards might be damaged if you drill into the bottom. This is not just a Jewelry Box, though it is beautiful, it is actually a working machine! Let me see what Orbita Corporation has to say about their product and bolting it down....I sent Orbita a note about the bolting down of a 3 WatchWinder and below is the reply....

Hi Everyone,

We would not recommend bolting the Siena WatchWinder frames to the cases. You would not have access to the battery compartment and you also risk damaging the PC board in doing so. It would void the warranty. We would suggest putting the motor assembly in a safe and use batteries if your customer is going to be out of town for awhile.

Playing on the RX name, this new battery operated orbita watchwinder is presented as a "prescription" for watch health. (Orbita's pun not mine!) This Orbita winder's operation is virtually silent and, as double precision ball bearings are employed on the rotating member, there is no need for lubrication or maintenance.

Watches wind gently with the mainspring tension held virtually constant, assuring time accuracy. The watch winder is fully programmable, with settings of 720, 950 or 1440 turns per day (TPD), the latter selection perfect for winding many recently announced extended power reserve watches with double mainsprings.

As with most all quality watch winders, this winder can also be selected to provide clockwise, counterclockwise or reversing operation. Innovative software design provides automatic TPD adjustment to compensate for battery voltage "droop" over time and a flashing LED signals whenever it is time for batteries to be replaced.

Just joking, (sort of) ....

OK someone else may have replied from our service department, if so, my apologies.
We do not mean to over whelm your in box....But I love to talk about these problem watches! (Because I secretly hope someone will remember me in their will! )

I strongly recommend the Orbita Siena 1 WatchWinder.
We will have to do some trial and error
on the settings to get it right, but I think we can figure it out so you can keep the watch and not give it to me.

One thing I hate to ask. No offense intended.

Is the watch working?
Don't answer to hastily, it is not uncommon for collectors to have watches that sat around for years and discover when placed on a winder find they do not wind. Usually they blame the winder, but usually it is the watch. Mechanical Watches really can
be troublesome, but they sure are beautiful and amazing when in service!
So answer this question:
If you wear it for a week does it keep the correct time?
If not, then it may need serviced or, you may simply need to manually wind it before wearing it, and definitely before placing it on a watchwinder.

I am not familiar with the winding requirements for this watch, so check your directions,
however generally with mechanical automatic movement watches you have 2 choices for winding the watch.

1. Stem winding. (Follow Directions, but our rule of thumb is 40 turns....actually 20 full turns 40 half turns, since your fingers only wind it 180 degrees each twist.) This will sufficiently charge the watch so a winder may maintain its wind.

2. Hand Wind with the "Wrist Flip" technique. Simply remove the watch. Firmly grasp it,
with your thumb over the face of the watch, or along the edge if you do not like touching the watch crystal and flip your wrist back and forth, not too hard, not so hard the watch flies out of your hand but as hard as you would knock on a bathroom door to see if someone is inside...again about 40 flicks should do the trick.

After the watch is fully wound wear it for at least 4-5 days, if it stays running and does not loose time, your good to go...you know the watch is 100% OK. It would not be a surprise however, to learn the watch needs service. How old is it? How long since you had it serviced?

Repeat this winding procedure every time you go to place the watch on a properly set winder.
Now it is not uncommon for an Automatic Watch to loose a few minutes, even an hour or so if left on a winder for an extended period of time. However the day, date and other functions should not need reset. But before wearing the watch wind it at least 40 turns or Flicks, or what ever your directions tell you is required for that BEAUTIFUL WATCH!

It is hard for me to find a watch band that fits, I have very dainty wrist. Not with Christian Dior watch bands they fit you. They make jeans of course they already know a ladies delicate features and the need of comfort for a man.

When you shop is it easy to buy cheap? Do you say to yourself it will last. Or this is just as good.
How many times have you done this this year alone and how many times have you been disappointed.
A lot huh. Well in reality when you skimp you really don't save because when you buy cheap you keep replacing the product.

Yesterday I had a great not so great day.

There are some subtle differences the lower priced model was replaced with the higher priced unit midway through the season, not a formal model change. But the manufacturer raised their prices and so we have to sell it at their price schedule.
The differences are minor and mostly cosmetic, the motor is identical and the settings and winding requirements are all the same. Inflation is the simple explanation, but also Eilux is starting to move up the food chain.

That is, they perceive themselves as more of a luxury brand and so they are pushing their prices up each production. They are 100 times better than any cheap watchwinders on the market, but in my view they are not quit at the Orbita level of Luxury winder product. The fit and finish is not up to Luxury winder standards yet, but the motor is certainly every bit as good and quite as anything on the watch winder market, luxury brands included. So to answer your question, essentially the units are the same (on the inside), if you like the cosmetics of curved glass and a latch vs a lock or if you prefer price over anything else, just know they are the same high quality watch winder motor and you will be pleased with either Eilux Watch Winder you choose.

But a real person, a business person, had to create an entry, which was proof read and approved or rejected by a real human editor. Not every site can get listed in the DMOZ, in fact most can not. There are some 15 million web pages listed in search engines under watch accessories, yet less than 50 websites listed in the DMOZ human edited directory.

The rules are tough for a non-human or non native English speaker to handle. I have nothing against people who do not speak English, do not get me wrong. But, if you are searching for a legitimate business website odds are the business will hire a competent webmaster. However a spamming site or Identity Theft Site, might not.
Yes the US has it's share of crooks. However, online, the FBI is pretty good at tracking people down! People hide easier over seas. Just how it is. (And unfortunately the better a few of our competitors look too! But I don't mind competing against real businesses, we offer service second to none, so we think we will win out every time!)

Being listed in the DMOZ of Google Directory does not mean the business is going to be trouble free, but a company that is not listed should be considered less reliable by
about 100 fold. Some of the companies in this directory are competitors. Good competitors, we would hate to loose your business to them, but
at least we know you are much more likely
going to be treated fair and not have your information sold to Spammers etc...so we link here to help you.

(Note: The DMOZ Directory is the same as the Google Directory, (Google owns both) except the Google directory ranks the entries, while the DMOZ lists them alphabetically only. Look for our listing, it should not be hard to find!)

One final caveat, Google and DMOZ do not warrant websites listed here, they do not check them or research them aside from their stringent requirements for how a listing may be written and content must be highly relevant. I am amused. Many of my "not customers" shop at other websites because we are
"too expensive", but they have no idea how much identity theft costs! There are many
websites who I can honestly call competitors. There are many websites I wish people
would listen when I say "Do not Risk it!.....but what can one do?

Penny wise and pound foolish often rules the day...but just in case you do not believe me check these two links out....I do not mind sharing the page with a legitimate competitor. WatchPrince.com is one such competitor. Though I would rather not have to compete against them, they are for real. Their price structure is surprisingly similar to ours.

Why?

Real businesses that care about their customers protect their data and give good customer service and sell quality products. Guess what? Protection and employees cost money. Cheap "Go Daddy type
Hosted" websites do not cost much and can look pretty nice, however I would never do ecommerce on such a site.....

Don't just look at a websites product lines, look for endorsements and safety seals, real ones, with roll over information and look for the hosting information. Yahoo! Stores hosting is "cheap" for a starter company, but extremely expensive if you actually sell online. Same holds for other real ecommerce hosts.

What do you do when the day just seems to drag on?

But something distasteful has caught my eye this year.
This years debates and or should I say political race has caught my eye.

Hillary looks horrible but, yet I love her running....A woman as president, I won't be mad but I am still not happy with her style.

Just because you are running the race of your life does not mean you should look like it.

I say out loud.

Hilary you are on the fore front of history little girls all over the world are watching your every move you are giving hope to women all over the world darling and if you win you will be the most copied woman in history besides the late great Jackie O. If you are inaugurated Mrs. Clinton you must shine and like your predecessors (all male mind you), you will wear a timepiece and you must wear a
watch that speaks volume to the greatest achievement to woman kind. (Leader of the Free World!)

So what watch would I recommend Hillary Clinton wear, now and as President?

Most of you think as a lady I will say Chanel. But no, sorry. (I love you
Chanel, but not in this case) The chief of staff needs a watch equal to the post. If she wins Hilary will be the Omega of presidents and should wear an Omega. Omega "the first, the beginning of something".........hopefully something great for the world not just for women.

Glad to help you with this question! A case for different sized
watches is sought out by many of our customers.

Our best watch pillows for different size watches look like the
cushion are for Jumbo watches ... and they are! However, these
particular watch cushions also can fit a woman or man's watch with
a 6-1/4" inside measurement.

Our "Trea" case has these mulit-use cushions,
as well as our "Roxanne" watch case.
The "Trea" is has a glass top for display purposes, whether you are
displaying them to share with a friend, or if you just like to look down
to admire the watches, or just see what is inside. Best of all it
is small enough to pack in your suitcase.

But wait, you are asking glass lid in a suitcase? I put an extra handkerchief
on the inside of the 3 watch case and wrap the display case inside my night shirt. Not a problem if it isn't rolling around inside. And who these days has that much room left in their suitcase. No one I know!

What is the difference between leather and leatherette?
How can I tell them apart and why is leather worth more?

Answer
Texture, feel, and smell are the big three that give it
away for most of us!

Textured genuine leather shows a grain or pattern.
Smooth leather is soft, especially if it is Nappa Top
Grain Cowhide leather. That is why some of leather
products are so much more expensive that the others -
but aren't you worth it?!

Genuine Leather is the next level of quality in leather
and the majority of our products are Genuine Leather.
Bonded Leather is the least expensive leather. Check the
label in your belts .. many of your belts are made from
bonded leather.

In the lesser quality leatherette exteriors, the 'faux leather'
is stiff and has a plasticy-fake feel to the touch.

If you want to save money and you drive a non-luxury car,
leatherette works well. If you only pick the best and
drive a high end vehicle, you will seek the patina of use
associated with leather of the years you own your case.

For seekers of classic luxury leather is still "king".
The faux leather, also called leatherette, is easier to
clean or maintain, but we are talking about cases in which
you plan to store expensive watches!

The smell of leather may fade with time unless you find
you need to dust/wipe it with periodically with a light
coat of a cleaner made just for leather.

Lets face it, leatherette is a close second and if you have
an investment in your watches, you'll appreciate leather.
