Today I am going to take a different route I am leaving the warehouse and I am going to ask a young man........ (my brother and a guy named Marcus.)

On my way to lunch Friday I met Marcus having a slice with some friends. I noticed he wore a G-Shock watch a classic one at that.

So I said "excuse I don't mean to be rude but I love your watch". He said Thank you then "I said may I ask you a couple of questions?" He said sure. (I'm gorgeous so of course he says sure.)

What makes this watch your favorite?

Marcus : Who said it was my favorite.

I just guessed it's a model from 1997, it has a Velcro wrist band and the band is really worn.

Marcus : Yes it's my favorite watch, and I think it's reliable I have had it since I was 15.

So a watch that is reliable?

Marcus : Yes and easy to deal with its water proof, and I sometimes forget its there. Simple and it tells time.

The weather, the date, a calculator, an alarm clock, and it matches my eyes.

Watches are not being worn by just dad and grandad any more. Today's generation is taking over. Now a days if you want to find a grand watch show most of the people there are in their 20's.

I have been in NYC for almost a week. Of course I am doing investigative shopping. NYC is known as one of the shopping meccas of the world.

So I started at Herald Square, before I could get out of the train station there was a man selling Rolex watches. $50 dollar fakes.

As I exited the subway the sights and sounds of Manhattan overwhelmed me everything was on sale everywhere.

What to do what to do?

Saks 5th ave is were I headed.
Of course they would have everything, watches, watch winders, and watch cases. They did and happy to say we beat them hands down.

I asked a clerk a basic question and she had no idea what I was talking about. Come on Saks the premier store in NYC. They are supposed to be experts.

For the Monaco Burl watch winder they charge $7,000.00 with no guarantee.
And I did not see any watch cases that were worth their weight in wood.

I was redirected to another Store across town to 96th st.
So I went with my trusty lap top and again nothing worht note, they had watch cases and their own watch winder creations but again without a guarantee.

So the $50 fake Rolex will work just as well as these...Dare I call them fake?
Fake watch cases and fake watch winders. About a week then paint will peel, motors will stop working.

I love NY but I an surprised at how cheap and fake these products are.

Do you ever just buy something for buying sake?

I do.

I shop all day long, and when I can not find anything I want, I just break down and buy something so my day wont be wasted.

Sad I know, but it's easy to return something to a store.

That is why I would not suggest impulse blues buying online. Not all online companies are honest you play phone tag for months before you even get a real person. And when you finally do the return window has closed. So again read the fine print. Don't just look at the pictures.

You never know when it will hit. You turn on the radio and there it is that song.
If you are like me no matter how bad you are feeling that song will get you moving.
Slowly and surely like the the thump of the base the music will overwhelm you.
Dance and let go it feels good. It feels even better when you can not dance go crazy in a good way.

He is a young new artist that hits the spot with his melodic beats and laid back flow.

He reminds me of what rap used to be, fun I can dance and be happy with this song.

April was such a blah month for me, rain, sun, rain, rain and sun, rain. I was all wet all month! I walk alot, and nice it was not!

I can not shop or be cute. What I can do is survey. Gold is making a comeback. Yes gold. The color that is. Gold shoes, purses, make up, and even the big earrings are coming back with a flash.

White and gold always seem to go together so well. But I will mix it up when ever the weather decides what it is going to do.

I will incorporate gold with the Navy Blue, gold pumps, blue dress, 1 gold bracelet, and gold hoop earrings.

I can even bring it up a notch forget the bracelet a gold pin.

What a great question!

The Siena 2 is a programmable watch winder with each motor being independent that allows the Siena 2 to wind 2 watches of totally differing requirements which you can program to the watch's specifications. More versatility via programming raises the cost of this winder.

The Spata watch winders come preset from the factory for two speeds and actually swing the watch; pendulum like. Both motors are also independent and depending on the particular Sparta - every 10 minutes the internal microprocessor activates the drive motor. The Siena 2 works using batteries (batteries not included) or electricity (adapter is included). The Sparta model either uses two D batteries or there is the new ac only adapter model.

Both are quality watch winders and excellent choices (both come with Orbita's two year warranty.

Thanks for all the information. Rapport did write they would send a part, but I'm not sure it was the actual motor. They said to test it with batteries and if it didn't work, then they'd send a part. Of course, it doesn't work with batteries either as I'm sure it is a bad motor.

I am going to your website to buy the Orbita Travel Winder. Perhaps I made a mistake paying so much for such an expensive Rapport winder case when it is the motor which does the work. By the way, I don't even remember where I purchased the Rapport winder.

"no longer in operation". Well, you are not alone in the "purchase for looks" department Rapport sells a great looking product...

We hear this story a lot. I sincerely do hope you get the thing working. This is exactly the response we used to get, never oh lets fix it, always something for the customer to do or test or the like, granted sometimes testing is needed, but your note was thorough enough to know you were not a "frantic, oh gee whoops, it is not plugged in sort of guy!" ha ha...

I prefer the Orbita and Eilux solutions of an American based distributor with repair capabilities but winders made with motors that are over engineered and therefore rarely fail really makes them stand out in the value department.

I wish we could get the Rapport Winder Boxes made with the Orbita Winder Motors, but alas....we can not. We therefore stick with offering dependability over looks and price!

We would not recommend bolting the Siena frames to the cases. You would not have access to the battery compartment and you also risk damaging the PC board in doing so. It would void the warranty. We would suggest putting the motor assembly in a safe and use batteries if your customer is going to be out of town for awhile.

Yes, Finally a movie that I can sink my teeth into. Tony Stark he is one of the greatest super heroes ever yes I am a girl but I can kick butt when it comes to comics. Unlike X-Men and Cat Woman this movie kicks a** excuse me but it is very rare for me to like a movie adapted from a childhood pastime.

Fantastic Four 1 and 2 were fantastic.

Bat Man also was OK, all of those stuck to the story line and focused on the story.
Most other comic book movie adaptations fell short and veered away from the story line and so I was not impressed with most of them.

The technology used in these movies will blow your mind. Iron Man especially, and what was really cool was I could actually talk about it from work and still be on task!

Why?

A Breitling watch, that is why. But no ordinary watch. (Well Breitlings are not ordinary, but you know what I mean!) This is why I picked this movie if you have seen this movie you would have seen the Breitling series watch that Robert Downey Jr. wore. Although it was fabricated beyond belief it still gives hope for the future. Wow I say and wow I say again. This movie will blow you away....And if you are anything like my boss this movie will get your creative juices flowing. He can recreate anything.

Movies give us insight to what is to come and if this movie is giving us a clue to what Breitling is coming up with get ready people!

An automatic watch with a map and DNA sequence finders....crazy but just imagine.
A watch that blends in with you and your DNA structure. This movie is beyond fantastic. I am 33 and have watched it 6 times loud and screaming with excitement each and every time.

Remember it only takes an idea to create beyond your dreams. At least thats what I think.

IRON MAN RULES BUT BREITLING STOLE THE SHOW!!!!

This is for anyone who uses AVG for their Internet Security Software, and is submitted and written by Eric Hamm a Charlottesville Virginia based computer consultant. http://www.tccville.com

You most likely are currently using version 7.5. If this is the case it will stop receiving updates soon if not already. This is because there's new version (8.0) available.

All you need to do is go to this link:

and download and run it to update to the newer version. Close all other applications and browswers before starting so you do not loose any half finished emails and other work. It will ask you to close programs mid installation, so do it now.

If you have any problems downloading it give it a day or two and try again.

I had a few issues myself getting it to download properly but I'm sure they will resolve this shortly.

When you run the installation it will tell you that you already have an older version that needs to be installed but if you just let it walk you through the default steps it will uninstall it for you and then install the new version. Keep in mind that this is the FREE VERSION.

If you have a paid for version you will need to go to http://www.free.grisoft.com and click on the non-free version where it says 'Get it now' and you will be walked through the download process.

I use the free version myself and have been very pleased with it but some prefer the paid for version's features. It's up to you but they both give good protection. Also, this new version now has Anit-Spyware protection as well as some browsing aids that help keep your computer safe from security threats. Let me know if you have any question. Or if you need me to take care of this for you let me know your availability.

message: Do you repair Rapport watch winders? Mine is less than a year old, and has stopped working. I'm sure it is just the little electric motor, but with such an expensive case, the Hexagonal Ebony model, I hate to just trash the whole thing.

I am afraid we can not be able to help you. We sell watchwinders, we do not repair watchwinders. We only sell highly reliable and dependable watchwinders for this very reason.

I would guess you are exactly right about it being the electric motor.....
I am sorry to hear your Rapport Watch Winder is not working. We used to carry this product line, however we discontinued them largely due to such issues.

We do not repair winders, though Eilux WatchWinders and Orbita WatchWinders both have service centers in the USA, neither of them will service the Rapport Watch Winder however.

Mechanical things do break occasionally this is why it is critical to purchase from an Authorized Dealer with an online reputation for high standards of quality. Like WatchCases.com, and to purchase a manufacturer with a repair facility in the USA.

Your winder should be under warranty if you purchased it from an Authorized Dealer they should be able to assist you. Contact the dealer directly. We did not sell the unit and have not sold Rapport Winders for over 3 years now. If you did not buy from an Authorized Dealer, you might be plain out of luck.

We will gladly sell you a replacement unit, however I do personally hope you are able to get it fixed. Should we stumble upon a repair facility in our daily workings we will let you know.

Orbita, Eilux Buben and Zorweg Watch Winders are the only products being made with the kind of high quality internal parts needed to work almost 24 x 7 like a watchwinder needs to work.

Buben is over priced because they are over designed. It is not what you see when you buy a watch winder that counts, it is what you do not see. Orbita is fairly priced for a Luxury Brand and Eilux is truly a great value in Watch Winders. Everything else on the market has issues with dependability. Though Wolf Designs has made great strides in the dependability area, and they stand behind their Winders, repairing or replacing them should issues arise. But again, you have to buy from an Authorized Dealer even with them, because they only deal directly with the Dealer not the Customer.

So much competition is selling Watch Winders at bottom basement prices and then disappearing after the sale. We are not repairmen, but we do help our customers get things taken care of when in the rare event one of the luxury watchwinders we sell has a similar problem as yours experienced. Typically though Orbita, Eilux and Buben do not break, though the other day a guy emailed us with a 6 year old "out of warranty" Buben watch winder and we were able to hook him up with a new motor. The motor alone cost him over $200! Whereas many new 4 watch winders are being sold at that price point for the entire unit, so you see it is not apples and apples when looking at prices for watchwinders. We were able to order him a motor, however he installed it himself. This was the first Buben I heard of having a problem like this. Though I do get requests in email like yours all the time.

To help put things in perspective the Electric Motor in an Eilux, Buben, or Orbita Watch Winder accounts for in excess of 25% of its parts cost, whereas cheaper built watchwinders the motors account for 25 cents not 25 percent!

We believe that our market base, owners of luxury Swiss watches, values their time and will pay for quality. It s an uphill battle, but value is the way to go in our view. Did you buy your watch based on its price being cheap? I think not! I wish you luck, and invite you to call us and order a new watch winder that will work over time!

Your website is great. I want to start out by thanking you for teaching me about watch winders. I would like to order a watch winder for a Seiko Kinetics Titanium Sports 1000 mans watch. I believe it is a bi-directional winding watch, and it has some weight to it. Can you advise me which winders could be used for this watch?

I would like the winder to be as quiet as possible, have battery & ac/dc adapter, and look good too. Do you carry a winder that will meet my needs? I would want to purchase it as soon as possible - I'm hoping to have it as a Present.

Thanks for the complement, and I did not do a good job educating you!
Why? Because the watch you wish to buy is not an automatic watch!

Seiko Kinetics Titanium Sports....

Seiko uses slightly different technology, actually it is a major difference, but the principle of changing movement into a form of power supply is the same. The way it is done is different. I am not an expert on Seiko. I might be mistaken, this particular watch may be a true automatic, but I think not. Most Seiko are a hybrid automatic mechanical/electrical technology to put it in overly simple terms...If it is a true automatic it will not matter in the end the choices are the same.

Seiko Watches are hard to wind. Only 2 single winders do the job.

The Orbita Sparta or the Eilux cylinder Watch Winder. I will ask someone from the office to send you a picture of the winders from the website after the Thanksgiving break. It will likely get filtered into spam so check on Monday if you do not hear from us with an exact item suggestion for you to look at.

The Eilux has an adapter available for an extra $50 or so. The Orbita Sparta is battery powered, but the batteries will last you at least 2 years! Guaranteed.
Price? You will be spending about $250 on a winder to do the job...

The battery in the Eilux will do 6-8 months so the adapter is a good idea with it.

I am 100% certain the orbita Sparta models will work for you, and I am 95% sure the Eilux will work. (Seiko is hard to wind.) Other winders on the market do not work. Customers call and tell me, I have a Seiko and I tried such and such winder and it does not work for Seiko...

The more expensive Orbita Monaco Winder and Siena models will also work, but you will spend $500-$1500 on those, none of the cheaper winders will work on Seiko...
